2 Types of Fear appeal and your not so typical type of 'FEAR'

Firstly There are 2 things that you should know about fear appeal..

It pinpoints the negative consequences occurred by..

1) not using the advertised brand or product
2) Participating in unsafe activities or behaviors (eg: unprotected sex, drink-driving, do drugs.. you name it)

The above can also be reclassified as

1) social disapproval from not using brand/ product
2) Physical danger from engaging

I came across this video, claiming about "exFEARential" through a share on my Facebook
Sometimes scaring people can save lives but it can also destroy one..

Have you ever wonder why baby safety advertisements are less dramatic than let say.. "No" to unprotected sex advertisements?

In my opinion, fear can persuade people to the "ideal" course of action, however, the relevance of a topic should be inversely correlated to the intensity of the threat or fear.

Well ask yourself, if you truly care for something or want something (relevance), do you need much persuasion (fear) for you to make a decision?
